Description
Wow, it's been a pretty long while since I've tried my hand at sculpting. Anyways, Quilava is one of my favorite pokemon, and I don't a figure of it, so I decided to try my hand at making one from clay (threw in a concept sketch of the sculpture too). I think it came out pretty good ^_^
Height: 4.25" from base to highest rump-flame spike
Materials:
-Wire and Tinfoil (for inside)
-White Original Sculpey (the body and base)
-Red, Yellow, and Transluscent Polymer Clay (the fire)...sadly the transluscence isn't that noticable unless you hold it up to a light
-Hot Glue (to glue the fire and body together, as well as the body to the base)
- Acrylic paints
-Matte Varnish for Acrylics
** The eyes were made by drawing them on paper, cutting them out, then applying a bubble of high-shine gloss on top, giving them a "glassy" look
Time taken: 6 hours (including baking time)
Quilava (c) Nintendo
